The German website of BMW has been baned from Google index. BMW.de appears to have a PageRank of 0. A search for BMW Germany doesnâ??t show any sign of BMW.de at all. Just days ago BMW.de was ranked as top result. Instead, BMW.com â?? BMWâ??s international site â?? is on top for this search.
Speculations are that the site used illegal doorway page that was stuffed with keywords optimized with BMW marketing language. The trick is that this doorway page was only displayed to the Googlebot search index crawler. Human visitors were immediately redirected to another page upon visit without even noticing it.
Google allows site search optimization for humans but not for robots. So it is a fair punishment.
